Where in the world is Gwannel Sandiego?
Since 2006, Gwan has been roaming around Europe, and is currently based in the Loire Valley city of Tours. Bumps on the road include disastrous jobs and lack thereof, thieving flatmates & a lot of wine. Where to next?

  • Assisi you later 2 weeks ago Originally, our plan was to visit Assisi, famed home of St Francis, after Perugia, on our way to the Adriatic coast. However, luckily I did my homework and found out that the 4th of October, the date we planned to visit, happens to be Francis's feast day. Dealing with the probable crowds of...
  • Cats, cathedral, caves in Orvieto 3 weeks ago The middle portion of our trip can basically be summed up as a series of hill towns, mostly known primarily for their churches - San Gimignano, Siena, Arezzo, Orvieto and Assisi. Orvieto had been on my bucket list for a while, purely because of the beauty of its cathedral's facade. Our overnight...
  • Intermezzo in Arezzo 2 months ago Since I insisted on rushing to the Basilica in Arezzo so early in the morning, by the time we had finished there and checked in to our B&B it was still only mid-morning. Thanks to her wry sense of humor and irreverent attitude, Gwan's blog is always a pleasure to read. She writes about Tours and her life in such a refreshingly unique way that I almost always have a smile on my face by the time I'm finished. If you're traveling to Tours, be sure to check out the tab, "Gwan's Guide to Tours" for some insider's suggestions on what to see and do. From first hand experience, I can attest that it's the "Super Best Tour of Tours Ever"!
