  • What's a croissant au beurre? 2 years ago Until last week, I thought I knew what a croissant was. Anyone who has lived in France knows that late spring is full of jours fériés, that is, bank holidays. For many, a five-day workweek is rare at this time of year. • Paris Pastry Shops 2 years ago I’m the kind of person who always needs a goal. I can’t go aimlessly for a walk, or get out of bed without first thinking up some sort of morning project. Sébastien would claim this is part cultural. “Breakfast in France is simple,” he said the other day as I carried a crate-full of...
  • Chocolate Coconut Banana Bread (Recipe) 2 years ago I was going to avoid posting yet another banana bread recipe. Fantastic site! I frequent it when I have questions about Paris: where to eat, what to do, where to find ingredients. Also, the gluten free recipes are simple and delicious.
