  • Young Woman at a Market in Cuenca - Ecuador Travel Photography 1 day ago This beautiful young Ecuadorian woman was selling clothing at a market near Casa de la Mujer in Cuenca. She was dressed in modern clothes with traditional beads around her neck. I like the way this photo captures the modern mixed with the traditional. Young Ecuadorian Woman Selling Clothes In...
  • The Ultimate Andes Tour: 5 Places to See Between Cuenca & Quito 3 days ago This is a guest post by Andre Rahmer (an expat living in Quito) of AndesBaseCamp. Living in Ecuador has many benefits. The one I enjoy the most is that this country has everything I can ask for when it comes to satisfying my addiction of traveling, exploring and adventure. Surfing along the...
  • A Photobombing Backflipping Galapagos Sea Lion 1 week ago As I was preparing the timelapse of the sunrise on Isabela Island, I noticed that one of the frames had something special. There was a sea lion in the photo. But not just a plain old sea lion. He was doing a backflip out of the water and the camera caught him in mid-air. What ... [Read more] The...
  • Galapagos Sunrise Timelapse: Dock on Isabela Island 1 week ago I love getting up early. There is nothing like the cool, fresh air of the early morning. While visiting Isabela Island, I got up around 4:30am to get ready to shoot this timelapse. I got to the dock just before 5:30am and set up. This timelapse takes in a full hour of the Galapagos sunrise. ......
  • My Favorite Ecuador Coffee: Café Cubanito 2 weeks ago Coffee in Ecuador is an interesting paradox. It’s produced here, but it is rather expensive and it can be hard to find a good cup. Hi Dana, You are always 5 stars to me. I wanted to tell you that I was a victim of a snatch and grab on January 22nd. It was in the new ice cream shop on Benigno Malo (I think). The thugs were caught on a video camera in the store and the police have seen the video. I spent some time with the Cuenca police about this matter. I also have a photo from the video. I was in Cuenca trying to get my Residency Visa. But didn't have any money after the got my pocket book with cell phone, $400.00 (for the Residency Visa) and my debit card that I get my social security money. I live in Loja area now but will be in Cuenca the 7th to the 9th this week to spend some time with 3 friends from the United States. They are paying for me so I can stay with them. I was supposed to meet in Galapagos on the 3rd but I couldn't go. Anyway if you would like any more information or a picture of these guys feel free to get in touch. bethgray58@hotmail.com
