An expat singer and an expat photographer are set to showcase their talent to citizens of the Iberia country.

Jazz musician Patrick Knowles moved from his adopted home on the Costa del Sol in 1997 in order to take his career to the next stage in the US. He revealed that since he had been Stateside, he and his accompanying band, Swing Thing, had played in each of the country’s great jazz venues.

Now fully established, he has returned to Spain for a nationwide tour which began on 5 March on Puerto Banus. Other cities he will visit include Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Alicante.

Meanwhile, British photographer Mike Naylor, who is still and expat in Spain, is to launch his first ever solo exhibition in the resort town of Fuengirola. Having recently been appointed as southern Spain’s organiser of the Royal Photographic Society, the Brit is all set to stage his exhibition at the Casa de la Cultura in Las Laguna.

Among Naylor’s work that will be on display will be: Deconstructing Reality, which looks at unfinished buildings; Memories of Contemporary Spain, a look at how people will remember the Costa del Sol; and Feeling Cancer, which focuses on the loneliness of the illness.
