As reported by Reuters, Canada’s beautiful landscapes, diverse society, security and health care services put it number one on the globe for UK expats, reveals a yearly index on published on Wednesday.

The NatWest International Personal Banking Quality of Life Index reported that in spite of a global economic crisis, over two-thirds of British expats had not witnessed a reduction in their lifestyle quality abroad and even fewer planned to go back home.

Another index by Britain's Natwest bank indicated that most British expats saw their decision to move overseas was positive. The data also showed over half of UK expats have not been pressured to significantly reduce their spending despite the debt crisis which has depressed the world economy for years.

Dave Isley, NatWest director of International Personal Banking, said the index indicated that expats had sailed relatively smoothly through the most troubling global economic phases since WWII’s end.

Expats in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and UAE said their money situation had 'improved dramatically' ever since moving to the host country. Those residing in Canada, Australia and New Zealand also assessed their financial situation as having 'improved significantly'.

However, expats living in South Africa, Western Europe and the US were less satisfied about their financial prospects, saying their financial situation had 'improved moderately'.
