Expats in Amsterdam can access all they need at the annual April 7 IamExpat Fair.

Voted the best of its type anywhere in the expat world, Amsterdam’s IamExat Fair is the answer to all expatriate needs in this increasingly attractive destination country. It’s the fourth outing for the event, which is now a much-appreciated feature on expat calendars across Europe. Its original aim was to link newly-arrived expats in the Netherlands with everything from service providers through accommodation to job offers, but nowadays it’s also a successful meet-up venue for expatriates from all over Europe and beyond.

The event has now developed into a one-stop shop for everything expat-related, even taking in property purchase and mortgages as well as financial advice in general. Health, leisure, education at all levels, career advice as well as actual jobs and the important issue of integration into Dutch culture and business ethics are all able to be accessed during the event, and lifestyle organisations’ presentations are popular with new arrivals in town. The one-day show is held at the Zuiveringshal West at Westergasfabriek, opening at 10a.m. and featuring 80 exhibitors offering their expertise to Amsterdam’s growing expat community.

Free workshops include bitcoin, networking, beginners’ Dutch, financial advice, Dutch income tax, education, leasing vehicles, personal branding and much more. For expat families with kids four years old and younger, there’s a drop-off, supervised play space with activities based on Early Learning, and many companies are giving special, one-day only offers or discounts on their products and services. Eateries and fast food outlets take care of the midday munchies, and the fair is a fun, informative day out for both experienced expats and new arrivals on the Amsterdam scene.
