Where in the world is Gwannel Sandiego?
Since 2006, Gwan has been roaming around Europe, and is currently based in the Loire Valley city of Tours. Bumps on the road include disastrous jobs and lack thereof, thieving flatmates & a lot of wine. Where to next?

  • Lakeside Lucerne 5 days ago Lucerne is lucky enough to have it all: a beautiful lake ringed with mountains, a river crossed by medieval bridges, and a chocolate-box cute old town filled with historic decorated houses. We got to enjoy all of this, albeit the mountains only at a distance and only a tiny portion of the lake...
  • Château Gütsch, Lucerne 1 week ago Finally, we approach the very last leg of our epic honeymoon month. Ravenna was our last stop in Italy, and we headed home via Lucerne/Luzern, Switzerland. Of course, I've heard and seen good things about Switzerland over the years, but my only prior experience was a pretty gloomy and miserable day...
  • Cryptic Ravenna 1 month ago Ravenna may not be associated with Dante the way Florence is, but it is the proud owner of his bones. The "tomb" in the church of Santa Croce in Florence is really just a memorial. Dante died in Ravenna, where he was living in exile, and was buried there. The Florentines have wanted him back for a...

Thanks to her wry sense of humor and irreverent attitude, Gwan's blog is always a pleasure to read. She writes about Tours and her life in such a refreshingly unique way that I almost always have a smile on my face by the time I'm finished. If you're traveling to Tours, be sure to check out the tab, "Gwan's Guide to Tours" for some insider's suggestions on what to see and do. From first hand experience, I can attest that it's the "Super Best Tour of Tours Ever"!
