  • "Lovely Day" off the coast of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. 2 months ago I know , I know. It’s been awhile. A long while. Since I’ve written an edition , that is. I’ve had the urge (who hasn’t from time to time) to knock one out but then the feeling has just as quickly passed only to be replaced by my alter ego, Mr Lackadaisical . But there …
  • "Gates of Tomorrow" in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. 6 months ago You build a house anywhere in the world it will need remedial work over time. In Belize – and I can only really talk about Ambergris Caye – this remedial work occurs more often. The sun and salty air wreak havoc on external elements of the house (and inside for that matter) . What started …
  • "Hot Dog" in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. 8 months ago Hi, Ziggy here. I know, I know, it’s been an absolute age since I last managed to get my paws on John’s iPad.  Since he stupidly shattered his wrist he’s been spending hours with it in his hands (the iPad, not his now repairing wrist) because he’s ((as he repeatedly (some may say...
  • "Don't Get Me Wrong " when away from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. 8 months ago Now where was I ? Oh, that’s right, in a taxi in Nicaragua heading from Léon to Granada. I am looking at moving to Belize in a few years from the USA. I haven't travelled there but I am planning to make a trip soon. I am very interested in the San Ignacio area. We are not really "beach" people. We are Irish and Scottish background, so we are fair. I would like to get some REAL ideas about cost and quality of building there, cost of living, medical care, etc. The things that are real in life. We want a calmer, more quaint type of life to retire in. Could anyone share? Thanks!
