The family of a sailor from Perthshire who has vanished in Dubai claim that his mysterious vanishing is “out of character''.
Timothy Andrew MacColl (27), a Leading Seaman originally from Killin, disappeared while his ship, the HMS Westminster, was still docked in Dubai. Mr MacColl was last seen entering a taxi at 2am Dubai time last Sunday following a night out.

The ship had stopped in Dubai on Saturday and departed on Thursday. Members of Mr MacColl’s family in Killin are anxiously awaiting any news on the whereabouts of the father of two. Relatives have travelled south to join Mr MacColl’s pregnant wife (Rachel), who is consumed with worry, the family added.

Leading Seaman MacColl, who is known as Timmy by family and friends, was last seen by a Royal Navy shipmate entering a taxi.
He had recently left the Regent Palace Hotel’s Rock Bottom Cafe, in the Bur Dubai district, which is a 15-minute drive from where his ship was docked in Port Rashid.

His wife Rachel said it was out of character for him to not contact his family. Rachel is expecting the their third child in October.
