A Spanish women who was found dead with her British partner and two children is though to have taken her own life after killing her family.

It is believed that the 37 year old Spanish woman, Anarda de la Cardiac Perez Friman, was suffering from post-natal depression during the period in which she and her family were found dead in their apartment in Gibraltar.

It is thought that she killed her partner, John Shannon from Liverpool, and her two young children after she suffered a ‘psychotic incident’. One of her girls was aged four and the other only six weeks old.

The ‘defensive wounds’ reportedly found on Mr Shannon’s dead body indicates that he tried to protect the young girls whilst Friman attacked him. The girls names were Amanda Kristofferson and Eve Shannon Perez.

An Australian friends of theirs who also worked with Mr Shannon’s father found the family dead in their apartment on Boschetti’s steps. The family was staying in the apartment before they were due to fly back to live in the UK.

The crime scene was described by police as ‘horrific’ and to a degree that many police officers who attended the scene are being offered counselling.
