According to UKPA, a UK man has been killed after falling off a balcony while hiding from alleged car thieves at the house of his girlfriend, a Kenyan top fashion model. Thirty-seven-year-old Charlie Grieves-Cook fatally injured himself after plunging from multiple storeys from the apartment of Diana Sifuna, said British expats.

Moments earlier, Mr Grieves-Cook, a photographer, had escaped to the balcony as the armed men burst into the building search for the "musungu", or “white man”, in an effort to take his vehicle.
Witnesses say the victim had tried hiding from the robbers by scaling over the terrace and hanging off the railings. The men left the building when they were unable to find him.

However, before the victim was able to climb back inside, he failed to maintain his grip and fell to the ground. Twenty-four-year-old Miss Sifuna is said to have taken Mr Grieves-Cook to a nearby hospital, near her home inside South C, a district of Nairobi's western Langata suburb which is famous for its crime levels.

Britons residing in Kenya said the victim was well-known in the expat community and described him as a “nice guy". Mr Grieves-Cook, supposedly an ex-chef at many of London's Michelin-starred eateries, was apparently refused treatment at hospital because he had no cash on him to pay for the care.
