Expats living and working overseas with elderly parents still in the UK can now access a dedicated homecare service for their loved ones.

Award-winning care provider Seniors Helping Seniors has just launched its services in West Kent, offering help around the home, overall care and compassionate companionship for elderly parents whose offspring are now expats living, working or retiring overseas. Peace of mind comes as standard, along with the knowledge that relocating overseas hasn’t threatened the well-being of loved ones.

Run by husband and wife team Keith and Barbara Reddy, the initiative is the perfect answer to expats’ concerns that elderly parents in the home country are having problems living in their own homes due to illness, accidents or simply old age. The service provides help with shopping, cooking, laundry, pet care, housework, gardening, DIY, doctors’ appointments, hospital visits, DIY and more, allowing the elderly to stay in familiar surroundings rather than having to go into care.

Everything is carefully organised with elderly needs in mind, saving expats the necessity of flying back should an emergency happen, and the award-winning family business itself is just one part of a 300-branch worldwide organisation. Active seniors are recruited, as they best understand the issues faced in old age, especially when mobility and alertness become limited. For emergencies and those who’re anxious over being in their own at night, there’s an overnight stay service, as well as a service looking after their home during hospital stays.

All those who provide the services are vetted and background-checked as well as having personal interviews with Barbara or Keith, and the service will liase with other home-visit medical and personal services to ensure their clients get the best of everything.
