The most popular destination for UK expatriates for overseas relocation is Australia, says the most recent yearly NatWest International Personal Banking Quality of Life Index.

There are now 4.6 million expatriates from the UK working or residing in foreign countries and 1.4 million of them live in Australia.

Other popular countries for Brits to live in are Fracen, Spain, the United States, and Canada.

Currently, 74,264 expats work at British international schools, and this number is forecast to increase by another 54% by 2013 to reach almost 115,000.
The majority of this rise will be due to growth in China, the United Arab Emirates, Spain and Qatar, and it is predicted that by 2013there will be minimum 1,600 British international educational institutions in Asia.

Many parents think that sending their children to schools which teach in English can help to secure the child’s future.

Furthermore, UK nationals have a reputation for business, as 38,000 expats are now living in Chinese commerce centres like Beijing and Shanghai.

The most popular industries for overseas Brits to work in are management consultancy, technology, manufacturing and financial services.

Also a popular destination for Brits is Singapore, with 45,000 expats living in its population of 4.7 million people.

Around 100,000 Brits reside in the Emirates, which represents the country's biggest western community.
