Former UK tennis ace Andrew Castle is luring expat Brits to southern Spain after taking on an ambassador role with Spanish property developer TM Real Estate Group.

Castle, who was British number one in 1986 and climbed to a career high of number 80 in the world in 1988, owns a holiday home in the southeastern Spanish town of Murcia and is often seen on the courts of the renowned La Manga Club. He will now also spend some of his time promoting newly-constructed properties in Almeria.

The BBC pundit, 51, said that the villas and apartments built by TM in the southeastern town were located by the sea and were now completed and “gorgeous” in appearance. He added that in hindsight he would have purchased a seaside residence as they offered a year-round guaranteed view.

The brand new homes being promoted by Castle are situated in San Juan de los Terreros, a coastal village that has been described as perfect for retiree expats looking to move to Spain to take advantage of the warmer climes.

TM, which also recently launched in Britain, has been developing holiday homes in the Iberian country for more than 45 years.
