Fascinating insights into life in Kazakhstan...a place I knew nothing about before I found this blog. I loved the piece about getting around Astana in particular; the pitfalls and benefits of hitching lifts and the trials of trying to buy a car. And the descriptions of life in winter with feet of snow and it being so cold the dog can't go out - it makes interesting reading from here in mild damp Dublin. Keep it up Nerissa.
